How to Learn Islamic Prayer Times

The Islamic Prayers are a form of worship which establishes the link between man and his creator whom we call Allah in Arabic. Through Prayer a person communes with his lord, the creator and sustainer of the universe.

At least five times a day Islamic all over the world face the direction of the first house built for the worship of the one Allah and pray the five daily Islamic prayers enjoined on every sane adult Islamic male and female. This house is called kabah. It is located in the holy city of Makkah in present day Saudi Arabia. We do not worship the kabah. We simply worship god while facing the kabah.

Islamic five daily prayers become obligatory from the moment a person embraces Islam. This is an extremely important tenet of Islam and has been enjoined with great emphasis both in the holy Quran and the sayings of Prophet Muhammad.  According to one saying of Prophets, the prayer is the borderline between a Islamic and non-believer.



Before the starting the prayer, a Person must perform Wudu (ablution)

Ghusl:  Washing both the hands up to the wrists. Wash the private parts and remove dirt or filth from the body. Perform wudu. Water should be poured over the head three times so that it flows all over the body. Pour water on the right shoulder three times.



There are five types prayers which are performed to five different times:

Fajr Prayer(Dawn):
  • It starts at dawn and ends at Before Sunrise.
  • It’s best to start time at the dawn Prayer.
  • Morning Prayer
Duhur Prayer(Noon):
  • It’s Midday Prayer, after the sun passes its highest
  • The Noon Prayer
Asr Prayer(Afternoon):
  • The late part of the afternoon.
  • The early Afternoon Prayer
  • The late Prayer
Maghrib Prayer(Evening):
  • It’s time begins Just after sunset and ends when twilight has just disappeared.
  • The Sunset Prayer
Isha Prayer(Night):
  • It starts when twilight has disappeared Between sunset and midnight
  • The Night Prayer

Islamic Prayer is one of the five pillars of Islam. It’s incumbent upon all mature Islamic, and highly recommended for children aged ten and over, to complete their five daily prayers according to the method described here in order for them to be valid. It’s believed that communication with Allah will bring life to the prayerful and bring them courage. Islamic believe that that Allah speaks to us through the Quran and Salat is our means of responding, whether you are just curious as to how Islamic prayer
  • Insure the Area is clean and free of impurities – Perform wudu
  • Face the Qibla – Direction all Islamic people face turn in prayer toward kabah. - The Holy Mosque in Mecca is the most revered place of worship for Islamic around the entire world.
  • Pray at the Proper Islamic time. – Five Prayer each a day specific times.
  • Raise your hands up to your ears and say in a moderate tone “Allah u Akbar”
  • Place your right hand over your left hand on your navel and keep your eyes focused on the place you are standing.
  • Say “Allahu Akbar” and bend down. – Your back and head should be in a 90 degree angle with your legs. Your body should be relaxed.  This position is called “ruku” – say, “Subhanna Rabbiyal Adheem wa Bi haamdih”.
  • Stand back up(raise from ruku) – Allah Hears those who praise him.
  • Say “Allahu Akbar” and prostrate – says “Subhanna Rabbiyal a'laa wa bi haamdee” three times
  • Rise From Sajdah and Sit on your knees. – says “Subhanna Rabbiyal a'laa wa bi haamdee” three times
  • Say “Allahu Akbar” and stand up. – Completed on Rakat
  • Finish the Prayer with tasleem – Saying “As-salamu alaykum wa Rahmatullah”
